Network Diagnostics and More
Tool guide limitationsGuides explain the intended workflow but cannot cover every device, provider or operating condition.

Interfaces and external services can change. Follow the current on-screen controls, check dates and vendor documentation, and verify important results independently before acting on them.

Important: Do not rely on this result alone for purchasing, configuration, security, safety, compliance, contractual or fault-diagnosis decisions. Results can be incomplete, delayed, misleading or wrong. Verify important findings with the relevant provider, manufacturer documentation and an appropriate independent test or qualified professional.

Diagnostic Case Workspace guide

Group exports and notes from multiple diagnostic tools into one browser-local case, surface possible cross-tool relationships and retain reusable encrypted projects.

Open Diagnostic Case Workspace

What you need

  • Case title and notes
  • JSON exports from network, website, DNS, email or firewall tools
  • A memorable passphrase of at least 10 characters for encrypted projects

How to use it

  1. 1Create or name the local case.
  2. 2Use Add to case on a tool result, or paste or import a tool export.
  3. 3Review evidence and heuristic correlation prompts.
  4. 4Save an encrypted project in this browser or export an encrypted .ndcase file.
  5. 5Clear the working case when finished.

Understanding the results

  • Use timestamps and source labels to keep evidence distinguishable.
  • Correlation prompts suggest checks; they do not establish root cause.

Recommended next actions

  • Export the encrypted project securely if it must be retained or reviewed on another device.

Common problems

  • Clearing browser storage or using another device removes access to locally saved projects unless an encrypted export exists.
  • A forgotten project passphrase cannot be recovered.

Privacy and security

  • The case remains in this browser unless exported.
  • Project encryption and decryption happen locally; the passphrase is not stored or sent.

Worked example

Scenario
Collecting evidence for a website outage
Example input
Path test, DNS trace, SSL result and analyst notes
How to read it
The workspace keeps related observations together, suggests checking DNS before attributing an HTTPS failure to the application, and can save an encrypted project for later review.

Limitations

  • Local storage is not a managed evidence repository or backup, and imported content may contain sensitive operational data.
  • Up to 10 encrypted projects are retained in the browser.

Do not rely on one result for a production, security, safety, purchasing or contractual decision. Verify important findings independently.
