Recommended toolInternet Speed Test

Measure download, upload and latency, then compare repeated results.

Important informationAccuracy and reliability noticeResults may be incomplete, delayed, misleading or wrong. Never use a single result as proof of a fault, service level, security condition or correct configuration.

Do not rely on these tools alone

Treat every result as a preliminary indicator only. Before purchasing equipment, changing a live network, reporting a contractual fault, assessing security or making a safety- or compliance-related decision, verify the finding with the relevant provider, manufacturer documentation, an independent test and an appropriately qualified professional.

Speed, quality and ping

Results can vary because of device performance, browser behaviour, background downloads, Wi-Fi or mobile signal, network adapters, local or ISP congestion, VPNs, proxies, security filtering, routing, and test-server distance or load.

Public IP and location

The public IP is the address visible to the service and may be affected by VPNs, proxies, carrier-grade NAT or IPv6 routing. Geographic coordinates come from the browser and may be approximate because of GPS, Wi-Fi, mobile-network, permission and device limitations.

Port, DNS, MAC, subnet and analyzer checks

Port tests originate from the hosted test service, not directly from your device. Firewalls, NAT, access rules, routing and filtering can change the result. DNS answers can differ because of resolver choice, caching, propagation delays, split DNS and record availability. The Network Analyzer displays only requests generated by this diagnostics website; it cannot capture traffic from other websites, applications or devices. MAC vendor results depend on external registration data and may be unavailable, outdated or different from the finished-device brand. Local and randomized MAC addresses do not provide a reliable vendor identity. Subnet results are mathematical calculations based on the entered address and prefix; they do not verify the configuration of a live network.

Comparison, monitoring and health summaries

Saved-test comparisons do not prove that either connection is faulty because the device, route and test conditions may have changed. Reliability monitoring uses browser HTTP requests and may pause when a tab is hidden or a mobile device sleeps. The health score is a weighted diagnostic summary; missing data reduces its coverage and it is not a certified fault rating.

SSL, security headers and RDAP

HTTPS and security-header checks originate from the hosted service and do not replace a security audit. Certificate details may depend on an external cached assessment. RDAP information comes from public registries and may be incomplete, delayed or identify a registered resource holder rather than the current operator or physical location.

Reports, saved data and generated passwords

Support reports exclude public IP, location, passwords and private deletion tokens, but user-entered labels and notes may still contain personal information. The privacy dashboard controls data in the current browser only. Generated wireless passwords are not stored, cannot be recovered here and do not guarantee security without appropriate router settings and safe handling.

Guided workflows, alerts, health and administration

Guided troubleshooting organises evidence but cannot identify every root cause. Browser alerts and monitoring work only while the page remains active. Service-health history is visitor-observed, not continuous independent monitoring. Maintenance mode is manually controlled, aggregate usage counters cannot identify unique users, and automated accessibility checks do not replace manual or assistive-technology testing.

A repeated result can improve confidence but still does not prove the cause of a fault or the correctness of a configuration. Use a wired connection where practical, control other activity, repeat tests at different times and confirm important findings with an independent method.
